Ground Type
The ground must be grass capable of taking pegs and a size of about 6m square. Please also ensure that there are no overhanging trees or other obstacles
Set Up Day Pitching
The tipis come pitched by Surrey Tipi and will be set up at the agreed time and location. For a weekend hire we normal set up Fridays. It is advisable to have someone present when we arrive to show us exactly where to place the tipi.
Matting
The matting supplied is marquee matting Coir (coconut) matting. The matting however will follow the contours of the ground – so if you have uneven ground be aware the matting will also be uneven. It is suggested that a day to 2 before we arrive you fill in any major divots and holes with earth and flatten out any obvious bumps.

All standard tipis come furnished with firebowls as standard they also come with:
- A water and fire treated canvas
- Coir floor matting
- Lantern / Candles
- An inner liner
- A fire blanket / Bucket
- Smokeless, eco friendly logs or Charcoal

These prices include the setting up and dismantling of the tipis.
Payment
Full payment is required on the set up day. Payment can be either a cheque or cash. BACS transfer is also possible, please inform us if you wish to do this so we can give you our bank details and check payment has gone through ok. Unfortunately we are unable to accept Credit Card payment.
Fire Pit
The tipis can be provided with a firebowl. The firebowl is to be used completely at the hirers own risk. Only fires inside the firebowl are permitted inside the tipi. The firebowl is only to be used with the smokeless logs supplied. A maximum of four firelogs are to be used at any given moment. The smoke flaps must be opened if the firebowl is in use. Children must be supervised at all times and nobody under the age of 18 is permitted to use the firebowl. The firebow gets very hot when in use and can cause serious burns if touched. You must not touch the firebowl when in use.
And lastly, but most importantly, never leave the fire unattended and always extinguish the fire before sleeping in the tipi.
